After being shot by a former patient, Dr. Ethan Choi, a former Navy flight surgeon and ED chief, kicks off the season in recovery mode.
It’s up to Dr. Dean Archer, the tough but gifted temporary chief of Chicago’s most trusted and busiest emergency room, to prove what he’s made of. Maggie Lockwood, a capable and confident nurse, also faces serious personal problems, which complicate her work in the emergency room.
The ED team has grown with two additional members. New Orleans-raised physician Dr. Crockett Marcel has finally opened up and won the respect and admiration of his peers. Dylan Scott, a former police officer, is doing his emergency care and pediatrics at the same time as Dr. Stevie Hammer, an intelligent but aggressive emergency medicine physician.
