Early life and education

Chris Owen was born on September 25, 1980 in Michigan, USA. His parents are Rosie Taylor and Gary Owen, and he has a younger brother, Gareth Owen.

He grew up in California, USA, where his family moved when he was just a toddler.

He attended the local secondary school but later moved to Parkhead, Edinburgh in Scotland so that he could attend Stevenson College.


Owen’s acting career started when he was only 10 years old, when he landed a part in the French-Canadian film “Le Peloton D’Execution” in 1991. In the early 1990s, he starred in several feature films such as “It Runs in the Familie”, “Majoor Payne”, “Angus” and “Black Sheep”. In 1997, he played Steve in a family drama “The Ride”, and the following year had a small role as Klepto Kid in “Can Hardly Wait”.
