Global Technology Company Xiaomi India announced on Friday to increase Muralikrishnan B as chairman of his India operations, effective August 1.

Muralikrishnan will be responsible for day-to-day operations, services, public affairs and strategic projects and will continue to work to strengthen the company’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ initiatives, the company said in a statement. .

He was Chief Operating Officer at Xiaomi India since 2018.

As an alumnus of IIM-Calcutta, he has more than 25 years of experience in the consumer technology domain and has been instrumental in the growth of the brand in offline sales, service and operations, etc.

Under his leadership, the company said it has witnessed strong growth across several categories and has significantly scaled its organizational capabilities and execution engines, laying a solid foundation in the offline retail segment.

Xiaomi appointed Alvin Tse as General Manager last month and after seven years in India, Manu Kumar Jain was transferred to a global role as Group Vice President.

Since the transition from Jain, Xiaomi India now has Raghu Reddy as Chief Business Officer and Sameer BS Rao as Chief Financial Officer.

“They have run the Indian business fairly independently and will continue to be a strong driving force behind the brand,” the company said in a statement.
