Maybe I watched ‘Your Lie In April’ too much because I had a knot in my throat and something flew into my eye. Remember how you felt when you first saw ‘The Fault in Our Stars’? If you’ve watched all 22 episodes of “Your Lie in April,” multiply that bittersweet feeling by ten, and that’s exactly how you’ll feel.
There are many great anime shows from life, but the music in this one stands out. ‘Your Lie In April’ will certainly be an exception, even if you don’t know much about classical music or are not a big fan.
The vibrant colors depicted in the anime, as well as the soundtrack, play a vital role in getting the message across. One of the main characters, Kousei, lives in a world of muted, monotonous colors, but when Kaori joins his world, everything changes.
As the anime’s aesthetic illustrates, love can certainly brighten things up. However, ‘Your Lie in April’ is not only visually and musically stunning, but also digs deeper into the plot. Even the show’s themes move subtly between music, love and sadness, all of which hit you right in the gut.
Since the plot of the anime is quite generic, many anime fans reject it. However, it would be unfair to judge it based on its plot alone because there is so much more to it. Take, for example, the animated film ‘Love, Death, and Robots’, which portrays something that live-action films cannot.
Most anime is treated like it’s a regular television show, but “Your Lie in April” takes full advantage of the medium’s potential.
Those who haven’t seen the anime yet should do so with no expectation that it will be another “slice of life” show. The emotions, main plot and stunning visuals of the anime will surely give you a mixed sense of melancholy.
Those who have seen it will no doubt continue to experience the emotional rollercoaster of the first season. Given the conclusion of the first season, it seems more likely that an OVA or “special” will come out after that. There’s nothing wrong with wishing for a new season, but we can’t promise anything right now.

The Lies of April Storyline:
Kousei Arima has been nicknamed the “human metronome” among his classmates and academics for his exceptional piano talents. However, Kousei is unable to hear or feel his own music after the tragic death of his mother, which was his main motivation to play music. He decides to leave his music career behind and start a new life, leaving behind his glorious piano days.
Years pass and Kousei’s vow not to return to his old life of admirers and competition remains unchanged. Instead, he lives with two friends named Ryouta Watari and Tsubaki Sawabe in a boring black and white world.
Things don’t begin to change until he meets Kaori Miyazono, a beautiful violinist with the same zeal for her instrument as for his piano. He rediscovers his long-dormant passion for music after being inspired by her. A sense of aliveness begins to return to his life, and his old sense of purpose grows within him.
In summary, it is a coming-of-age floor in which the main character, Arima, tries to reconcile his past with his present, which has an impact on his future. He is eager to move on, and despite the horrors he has seen, he is making progress, albeit slowly.
For obvious reasons, a growing connection is needed in a coming-of-age show. The main plot of the play revolves around this friendship, which eventually turns into a few subplots. This is where the anime starts to get choppy and shows some of its flaws.
These strange subplots drag the show to a climax that could have been reached in 15 episodes. But the ending more than makes up for that, and just thinking about it makes me want to curl up in a ball and sob in a dark corner.
As mentioned, a few more episodes of the anime are possible, but a full season is unlikely. Instead of feeling bad about it, we should learn to appreciate some shows for what they are, which in this case is the pleasant and obvious conclusion of the anime.
Characters from April’s Lies:
Arima, Kousei Kousei was a brilliant pianist who won the Saki Competition at the age of nine. However, the death of Kousei’s mother has left him with a dull impression that he cannot listen to or feel his own music.
His life becomes dull and lifeless, devoid of color and happiness. Kousei seems to be lost in his own world all the time, disinterested in others around him. As a child he was always calm and quiet, and all that mattered to him was his passion for music.
He retains a sense of pure innocence in his behavior even after reaching adolescence. He can only express his affection for Kaori by staring at her. What he admires most about her is her free-spirited approach. He wishes he had half of her confidence, and she helps him with this later in the series.
After the loss of Kousei’s mother, violinist Miyazono Kaori reintroduces him to the music world. She encourages and encourages him to pursue his talent once more. Had it not been for her, Kousei would never have awakened from his life of monotony and misery.
Kaori has an outgoing attitude that shines through in practically everything she does. She has deep energy in her playing, even when she’s not playing the violin. She is confident and kind to everyone she meets which is probably why she has so many friends.
Kasuri makes a point of making sure no one around her is affected by her emotions, and as a result, she throws the occasional fake grin. Her outlook on life is optimistic and she successfully navigates situations that many others would find difficult or unpleasant.
Miyazono’s sensitive and independent attitude, which is often reflected in her piano playing style, is what Kousei admires most. This is the first thing judges notice about her, even at music competitions, and it’s one of the reasons she can excel in her artistic endeavors.
The character growth of the show’s two main characters is clearly much more, but revealing anything would be unfair, so let’s stop there.
TSUBAKI SAWABE
Tsubaki and Kousei have been friends since childhood.
She watched him grow as an artist and was there for him every step of the way.
She admits she has a crush on him, but she doesn’t seem to realize it.
She is afraid to let Kousei return to his musical roots because she fears that music will take him away from her.
Despite her reservations, she must continue the case.
He has the ability to achieve his own happiness.
She gives him the go-ahead to leave. He is still her boyfriend and she is not afraid that he will make bad decisions. Occasionally letting go can bring joy to us and our loved ones.
TAKESHI AIZA
Takeshi has been playing the piano since he was a child, just like Kousei. He goes to the gym every day. Early on, Takeshi was influenced by Kousei’s methodical and masterful performances, and he hoped one day to surpass him. When Kousei faces his tragedy, everything comes to a halt. Takeshi wouldn’t understand why his motivation had disappeared, even if Kousei-related characters and onlookers could understand. He makes every effort to keep alive the source of inspiration he used to look for. After so many years, he finally meets Kousei. His determination is an example of what everyone should strive for.
NAGI AIZA
Takeshi Aiza’s younger sister, Nagi, is Kousei’s competitor.
Because of her loyalty to her older brother, Kousei initially disliked her.
She finds it annoying that Kousei has to teach her later.
She regrets having to prepare a piece for her school presentation.
Even when she gets closer to Kousei, she is still afraid to perform in front of her classmates.
Even before the performance, she felt nervous.
She won’t let fear get in the way of her acting when it’s her turn.
We can all be better individuals every day if we follow her simple message of growth, natural character development and simplicity.
